Program Development
The Opportunity
CRG is seeking a passionate Speech-Language Pathologist to help build and deliver an evidence-based, multidisciplinary head and neck oncology rehabilitation program. You’ll manage a dedicated adult caseload across prehabilitation, active treatment, and survivorship while helping shape clinical pathways, contribute to research, workflows, and documentation. The ideal candidate brings a genuine passion for caring for people living with or a history of cancer, a collaborative and relationship-driven approach to program development, and the enthusiasm to contribute to CRG's growth and partnerships.
Schedule & Location
This hybrid position is based at CRG’s Indiana clinic, with dedicated telehealth (remote) time built into the weekly schedule. Telehealth care may include survivorship follow-ups, home-program coaching, caregiver education, and remote monitoring. The clinic/telehealth split will be established collaboratively based on caseload and program needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate and treat adults with head and neck cancer-related dysphagia, trismus, speech, voice, resonance, cognitive-communication, and other communication or functional impairments related to cancer and its treatment.
- Provide care across the continuum, including prehabilitation, active treatment, and survivorship; develop individualized, evidence-based plans aligned with patient goals and treatment phase.
- Provide total laryngectomy and tracheoesophageal puncture (TEP) management, as appropriate to experience, training and competency requirements.
- Perform, interpret, and/or coordinate instrumental swallowing assessments (e.g., MBSS/VFSS and FEES), as appropriate to credentials, training, and practice setting.
- Coordinate care with CRG’s multidisciplinary team and referring oncology teams; communicate patient progress, concerns and recommendations to providers and across disciplines as appropriate. Participate in interdisciplinary case conferences and relevant tumor boards.
- Help develop and refine clinical pathways, documentation, competencies, and workflows, and contribute to new program initiatives as CRG’s head and neck oncology rehabilitation grows.
- Contribute and/or represent CRG in professional education, advocacy, referral and community partnerships.
Preferred Qualifications
- Two or more years of experience treating adults; preferred experience with head and neck cancer and/or inpatient, outpatient, or specialty adult setting.
- Experience with dysphagia, voice, trismus, total laryngectomy/TEP management, and/or instrumental swallowing assessment (MBSS/VFSS or FEES). Experience with head and neck cancer-related lymphedema management or interdisciplinary lymphedema care.
- Familiarity with telehealth and outpatient workflows.
- Demonstrated interest in program development, partnership building, research, grant-funded initiatives, patient advocacy, and professional education.
Compensation & Benefits
Cancer Rehab Group offers a competitive salary and benefits package.
Minimum Qualifications
Education
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Sciences and Disorders from an accredited program.
Licensure & Certification
- Current Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).
- Active Indiana Speech-Language Pathology license or eligibility to obtain Indiana licensure prior to providing patient care.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross, or ability to obtain certification within 30 days of hire.
Clinical Qualifications
- Completion of the Clinical Fellowship (CF); this position is not structured to provide CF supervision.
- Demonstrated clinical experience with, or a strong foundation in, adult patients with medically complex conditions. Experience may include oncology, acute care, hospital-based rehabilitation, or outpatient adult- specialty care.
- Ability to conduct independent evaluations, develop individualized treatment plans, and deliver evidence-based care within the clinician’s scope of practice and demonstrated competencies.
- Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, with an outgoing, relationship-focused approach to working with patients, caregivers, physicians, interdisciplinary teams, and community partners.
- Ability to deliver care through telehealth, including effective virtual communication, appropriate clinical judgment regarding suitability for remote care, and basic technology troubleshooting.
- Commitment to ethical, patient-centered care, professional accountability, timely clinical documentation, and ongoing professional development.
Why Join CRG
- A caseload dedicated to adult, head and neck oncology rather than a general SLP mix.
- Direct mentorship from CRG’s Founders and Clinical Leads, who bring more than a decade of subspecialty head and neck oncology SLP (rehab) experience each.
- A meaningful role in shaping clinical pathways, care delivery, and new partnerships as the program grows.
- A collaborative, mission-driven team focused on evidence-based care and sustainable clinical practice.
- Opportunity to grow with CRG’s expanding practice, with potential for future senior or lead responsibilities.
